Innovative Feature of scheme:
The MMMSY is designed to address local fisheries requirements and mainly focuses on the projects not supported under the PMMSY or other schemes.

Major Infrastructure created under MMMSY:
· Fish Production Infrastructure — 202790 cub. m of ponds in hilly regions; 12.76 ha Ponds in plain region; 36 Trout rearing
· Intensive Aquaculture Units — 39 Bio-floc Units; 20 RAS Units
· Feed provision— 8684 quintal of feed provided to beneficiaries
· Value addition units- 26 Matsya Saheli Value Addition Units Established
· Other Livelihood Projects : 12 Angling beats developed for fishery eco-tourism activities.

Implementation Challenges and Corrective Action
Scheme Rationalization:
Till FY 2023–24, the Department was implementing several standalone schemes in parallel, such as the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCP)/Tribal Sub Plan (TSP), Pond Construction in Hill Areas, Input Assistance Scheme, and other state-funded interventions. This fragmented approach often resulted in duplication of administrative processes and challenges in implementation and monitoring.
To address these issues, the Government of Uttarakhand consolidated all such schemes under a single umbrella programme, "Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (MMMSY)," from FY 2024–25 onwards. The convergence of schemes has streamlined implementation, simplified fund management, ensured uniform guidelines, improved monitoring and evaluation, and enhanced the overall effectiveness of fisheries development interventions across the State.
Present Status and Way Forward
Current status: 19 activities Targeted for FY 2026-27 are under implementation.
