Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B. V. R. C. Purushottam reviewed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) with the Divisional Commissioners of Garhwal and Kumaon. He directed officials to conduct field visits at polling stations with a high number of voters marked under the Uncollectible category and to review the SSD lists examined by DEOs and EROs. BLOs were also instructed to record proper comments on the enumeration forms of voters in the Absent, Shifted and Death (ASD) category, with the required verification and signatures.
The CEO directed districts to prepare a detailed action plan for the disposal of claims and objections after publication of the draft electoral roll on July 14. To make the process easier for voters, especially in remote and hilly areas, camps will be organised at Nyaya Panchayat level, while camps in urban and plain areas will be arranged at municipal, Nagar Panchayat and ward levels. Officials were specifically instructed to ensure that no voter faces unnecessary difficulty during the notice and claims-objections process.
