Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B. V. R. C. Purushottam held a meeting with senior officials and departmental nodal officers to ensure timely verification of documents submitted by voters during the SIR notice and hearing process. He directed departments to complete verification of prescribed documents, including educational, residence, caste, birth and family records, within the required timelines.

State-level nodal officers have been designated for verification across different departments, with continuous monitoring and coordination with district-level officers. The CEO emphasised that timely and efficient document verification is essential to ensure that voters receive a fair and smooth hearing opportunity during SIR.
