Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B. V. R. C. Purushottam held a meeting with representatives of recognised national political parties following the publication of the draft electoral rolls on July 14, 2026. Digital copies of the draft rolls were shared with the parties, and their cooperation during the first phase of SIR was appreciated. The draft roll includes 71,33,785 voters, while around 8.26 lakh voters have been identified in the ASD category.

The CEO informed that each BLO is being provided 100 Form 6 copies to help eligible citizens add their names to the electoral roll. Voters can submit claims and objections through Forms 6, 7 and 8 during the prescribed period. A person can submit a maximum of five objections for deletion of a voter’s name, with additional objections subject to ERO-level verification. The notice, claims and objections process will continue up to September 11, 2026, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on September 15, 2026.
