Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam chaired a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties on Tuesday to review the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme in Uttarakhand. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the ongoing revision process, and suggestions from representatives of political parties were received.

Dr. Purushottam informed the representatives that the Election Commission of India has further extended the date for the final publication of the electoral rolls in Uttarakhand to October 3, 2026. He further informed that hearings have been completed for more than 24.29 lakh notices, against approximately 24.30 lakh notices issued to voters.
The Chief Electoral Officer also informed the political parties that hearings on more than 40 per cent of claims and objections received through Forms 6, 7 and 8 have been completed.
During the meeting, Dr. Purushottam also informed the representatives about the implementation of the Demographic Similar Entry (DSE) and Photo Similar Entry (PSE) module in the state. Voters whose names are identified through the module will be issued notices and provided 15 days to submit their response, ensuring due opportunity for verification and clarification. The Chief Electoral Officer reiterated the importance of maintaining transparency and ensuring the active participation of recognized political parties throughout the electoral roll revision process.
