Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B. V. R. C. Purushottam reviewed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign through a video conference with the District Magistrates of all districts at the Secretariat on Monday. He directed the two Divisional Commissioners to camp in their allotted districts for the next 15 days and instructed all DEOs and EROs to conduct verification through super-checking and field visits during the claims and objections phase.

For the next 15 days, the Kumaon Commissioner will camp in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar, while the Garhwal Commissioner will camp in Dehradun and Haridwar. They will verify booths receiving the highest number of Form 6 applications for inclusion and Form 7 applications for deletion, while District Magistrates will conduct random field visits and surprise booth inspections. EROs will cross-verify forms at booths where Form 6 applications exceed 4% or Form 7 applications exceed 2%. DEOs were also directed to scrutinize Forms 6, 7 and 8 and dispose of claims and objections within the stipulated timeframe. The meeting was attended by senior election officials and all District Magistrates.
