Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam addressed a press conference at the Secretariat Media Centre, providing an update on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state. He informed that over 20.27 lakh notices have been delivered to voters out of 24.30 lakh issued during the notice phase. Between July 14 and August 5, the Election Department received 57,000 Form 6, 22,668 Form 7, and 26,145 Form 8 applications.

The CEO said that continuous feedback is being taken from political parties through regular meetings at Assembly, district and state levels, while field visits are also being conducted to facilitate notice hearings. He directed all District Election Officers to ensure doorstep hearings for voters above 65 years of age and persons with disabilities, emphasizing that elderly and differently-abled voters should not face unnecessary inconvenience during the SIR process.
