Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam briefed the media on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at a press conference held at the Secretariat Media Centre on Monday. He informed that the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the publication of the final electoral roll in Uttarakhand, with the final roll now scheduled to be published on October 3, 2026. Under the earlier schedule, the final electoral roll was to be published on September 15, 2026.

Providing an update on the progress of the revision exercise, the Chief Electoral Officer said that hearings have been completed for more than 99% of the 24.30 lakh notices issued across the state. He further informed that 40% of the hearings related to Forms 6, 7 and 8 have also been completed. As per the revised schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the hearing and disposal of claims and objections will continue until September 28, 2026, following which the final electoral roll will be published on October 3, 2026.
