Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) with the Divisional Commissioners of Kumaon and Garhwal and the District Magistrates of Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar. He directed officials to ensure that all claims and objections are heard and disposed of strictly as per rules. The CEO made it clear that any negligence at any level would result in fixing responsibility on the concerned officer and appropriate action.
The CEO also reviewed the disposal of Forms 6, 7 and 8 and directed Electoral Registration Officers to personally inspect booths where additions are expected to exceed 4% or deletions exceed 2%. He emphasized regular communication with political parties and the media and instructed the Divisional Commissioners to continue field visits to monitor the SIR process and address issues on the ground.
