Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B. V. R. C. Purushottam, speaking as the Chief Guest at the inaugural session, said the conference reflects India’s vision during its presidency of International IDEA. The conference brings together academia, Election Management Bodies and international experts to share experiences, exchange knowledge and strengthen election management institutions globally.
He highlighted that the key role of an Electoral Observer is to independently and impartially monitor the electoral process. Effective observation helps promote transparency, fairness and public confidence, contributing to stronger and more credible elections.
